DOC ReBoot was created to give documentary filmmakers and the knowledge and skills they need to produce for the digital environment. Running from February 16 to 19, 2010, ReBoot included a three-day project lab that encompassed skills-based training, mentorship and presentations from leading experts in cross-platform production including Lance Weiler, Kat Cizek (NFB) and Evan Jones (Stitch Media). The participating filmmakers presented the results of their mentoring sessions at the ReBoot wrap-up event on February 19. As part of ReBoot Week, 8 case studies were uploaded on to the ReBoot page on DOCspace. In the form of video addresses, the case studies and seminars cover subjects ranging from content collaboration and distribution to content and form, to creating online communities and alternative fundraising opportunities. Questions explored included: How do you work with the new digital “crews” and what does it means to tell a story digitally?
