WIFT-T 2010 Development Incubator

The  2010 Women in Film & Television Toronto (WIFT-T) Development Incubator takes place June 15 to 18. WIFT-T Development Incubator is designed to develop market-driven feature films and support the next generation of Canadian feature film professionals. This initiative provides five emerging and intermediate producer and writer teams, with feature length projects in development, the opportunity to work with consultants and industry advisers in a series of small group sessions.

The program fee is $500 + GST for successful applicants. 

Benefits

    * Series of intensive group sessions on writing, development, financing, and marketing
    * Industry case studies on Canadian and international development, co-productions, and financing
    * One-on-one project consultations with creative and financial experts
    * Producer and writer team will be matched with U.K. or national story editors to polish script
    * Complimentary participation in writing workshops, including WIFT-T Women Writers Workshop and two-part WIFT-T Feature Film Writing Program.

Eligibility

    * Canadian citizen or landed immigrant or permanent resident
    * Independent producer
    * Must have at least one feature film or long-form project in development
    * Must be able to prove ownership of the project
    * Projects cannot be written by the producer applying
    * Treatments will not be accepted
    * Must have signed agreement from writer to participate in the WIFT-T Development Incubator
    * Must have at least two producing credits for feature films, television movies, short films, television series, television one-offs, or documentaries
    * Must have a minimum of five years professional experience in the industry
    * Must be able to participate in all workshops and commit to working with a story editor during stated time frame
