NSI Online Short Film Festival deadline: August 26
The National Screen Institute - Canada (NSI) is currently accepting films for the NSI Online Short Film Festival. The submission deadline is Thursday, August 26 at 4:30 CST. The NSI Online Short Film Festival is a year-round Canadian short film showcase with new films uploaded weekly. New films are solicited four times a year.
The NSI is looking for short films and videos no longer than thirty minutes in length (the shorter the better!) produced after January 2006. Your film can be drama, comedy, experimental, animation, sci-fi, horror, music video or a short documentary but it must be Canadian.
The festival has over 140 Canadian short films available to watch and features works by emerging and established filmmakers, introducing Canadian film to audiences across the country. All NSI website content can be accessed for free in Canada.
If your film is selected to play in the NSI Online Short Film Festival it will automatically be eligible to win the A&E Short Filmmakers Award, as chosen by a jury. This award comes with a cash prize of $2,500.
ABOUT THE NSI:
In addition to the NSI Online Short Film Festival, the NSI website also has an Online Industry Centre with professional development resources including blogs, industry articles and video and audio interviews with writers, directors, producers and actors from the film, television and digital media industries.
The National Screen Institute (NSI) is widely known for its prestigious training programs for Canadian writers, directors and producers working in film, television and digital media. Most programs are part-time so students keep their day jobs while they train. Participants do not have to relocate – intensive training happens in one place and participants return home to work with a mentor for the rest of their program. All training is delivered by senior industry experts.
