DGC announces nominees for 2010 Awards

The Directors Guild of Canada have announced the nominees for the 2010 DCG Awards whichtake place September 25 in Toronto. The four nominees for the DGC's non-fiction award, the Allan King Award for Excellence in Documentary, are: Ballet High, The Experimental Eskimos, Genius Within and Love Letters..

Ballet High - Elise Swerhone (Director), Robert Lower (Picture Editor)
The Experimental Eskimos - Barry Greenwald (Director), Nick Hector (Picture Editor), Michael Bonini (Sound Editor)
Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould - Peter Raymont (Director), Helene Valinsky (Production Manager), Russell Walker (Music Editor)
Love Letters - Tim Southam (Director), Sean Breaugh (Production Designer), Joyce McPherson (1st Assistant Art Director)

The Allan King Award for Excellence honours the legendary documentarian Allan King who passed away in June 2009. The 2009 Allan King Award went to Air India 182.

Comedian Dave Foley will host the 9th annual gala on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto. Atom Egoyan's feature Chloe leads in non-fiction nominees with five nominations. The CBS dramas "The Bridge" and "Flashpoint" each received four nominations.
