DOC Toronto Pefect Ptitch Workshop - April 12

On Monday, April 12 DOC Toronto is hosting The Perfect Pitch: Selling Your Story with the help of an expert panel that includes Ed Barreveld (Storyline Entertainment), Charlotte Engel (CTV Inc) and Robert Lang (Kensington Communications Inc.). The panelists will lead a forthright roundtable discussion about pitching and networking in the current documentary economy, sharing their experiences and challenges selling a variety of documentary projects.

Using the upcoming Hot Docs market as the primary illustration, participants will get an overview about selling their ideas. This will include understanding what, how, where, and to whom to pitch. Participants will also have an opportunity to seek advice about their own pitch methods. In this intimate roundtable environment, you will learn the essentials of pitching documentary projects and standard and unorthodox networking strategies to use at a market.

The Perfect Pitch runs from from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm at the Centre for Social Innovation in the Robertson Building at 215 Spadina Avenue (two blocks north of Queen St., streetcar stop is Sullivan Street). The cost is $15 for DOC members and $25 for non-members. Participation is limited to 25 attendees register online as soon as possible at www.doctoronto.ca/upcoming-events.
