DOC Toronto Masterclass with Peter Raymont - April 20
On Tuesday, April 20, DOC Toronto and Camera Bar are pleased to present Peter Raymont as the next guest for the ongoing Master Series. Filmmaker, journalist and writer Peter Raymont has produced and directed over 100 documentary films and series during a career spanning more than 34 years.
Heis the recipient of 35 international awards including the Canadian Genie, 4 Gemini Awards, several Gold and Silver Hugos, The Sesterce d'Argent and other international honours. His documentary feature, Shake Hands with the Devil: The Journey of Roméo Dallaire was honoured with the 2005 Audience Award for World Cinema Documentaries at Sundance Film Festival and the 2007 Emmy Award for Best Documentary. In 1979 Raymont established his independent film and television production company, Investigative Productions, now operating as White Pine Pictures (www.whitepinepictures.com).
The DOC Toronto Master Series are evening classes where celebrated documentary filmmakers share their in-the-field experiences and expertise with their colleagues and peers. The emphasis of this unique professional development series is on the craft and art of documentary media rather than the business and logistics of production.
